In special circumstances, Dr. Miller and I offer Craniosacral Therapy in the Tuscon area when we feel that hands-on work will help release challenging or intractable imbalances. Most often, these imbalances center around the head, neck, spine, or jaw area and can result from past injuries or ongoing stress. In such cases, the gentle touch of craniosacral therapy can underscore our healing intentions and allow a more thorough resolution of physical challenges.
Craniosacral therapy is a whole-body treatment technique. It works with the body’s craniosacral system to support and nourish the central nervous system. Those who have experienced craniosacral therapy report that it helps alleviate the aches and strains of life and improves coping mechanisms to allow for better stress management. Overall, Craniosacral therapy enhances the body’s ability to self-care, and this can produce profound positive changes.
HOW WILL IT WORK:
A typical craniosacral therapy session lasts from 45-60 minutes. You’ll be fully clothed and lying on a massage table in a comfortable setting. Together, Dr. Miller and I will utilize light touch along with my other healing modalities to listen to your body and discover tensions and imbalances.
From there, we’ll underscore our healing intentions with light manipulation to enhance fluid flow and release patterns of tensions. As with other energy healing modalities, this release allows the body the space it needs to regain its natural balance.
After your craniosacral therapy session, you may experience unwinding sensations as the body releases tension, or you might experience a feeling of lightness and balance. The body may take some time to integrate these changes. We suggest that within the 24 hours after your session, you allow for extra rest and drink plenty of water.
